In The Community

As part of our goal of providing top quality property management, real estate services, and construction services, Deca feels it is important to give back to the community. As such, each member of the Deca team is asked to do his part in making our community a better place to live.

Sponsorship:

Deca underwrites the cost of a number of athletic teams in and around the St. Louis area. Additionally we act as a sponsor for local charity events such as golf tournaments and school auctions.

Civic Volunteers:

Steve Young is Chairman of the Board of Directors for Cardinal Ritter Senior Services which is a nonprofit organization that provides services to improve the quality of life for senior adults by promoting and providing social, health and housing programs. Services are provided in St. Louis City and County, as well as in St. Charles, Jefferson, Franklin and Warren Counties. Cardinal Ritter Senior Services serves over 30,000 senior annually.

In addition, Steve Young is also an active member of the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce. The chamber is organized to advance the economic, commercial, industrial, professional, cultural, and civic welfare of the Crestwood-Sunset Hills community.

Marty Carr is an active member of the Affton Chamber of Commerce. Marty Carr was named Affton Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year for 2005. He served on the Affton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for four years, and was co-chair of the Golf Committee for five years. Currently he serves as an active member of the Economic Development Committee.

Jim Young is a charter member of the Missouri Realtors Property Management Section. He is also an active member of the Lindenwood Neighborhood Association. This Association covers the geographical area bounded by Arsenal Street on the north, Chippewa on the south, city limits to the west and Hampton on the east. The organization works for the general betterment, welfare and improvement of the area. Much of the orientation and fund raising of the organization is directed towards maintenance and improvement of Lindenwood Park - the major city park in the Lindenwood Park neighborhood. Approximately 450 families and businesses are members of the association.

Angela Velazquez is a member of the Junior Board of Directors for TASK (Team Activities for Special Kids). TASK is a recreational sports league where kids with special needs, any special need, can come together to learn how to play a variety of sports and socialize with their friends while increasing their self-esteem. The organization is run exclusively by volunteers who are dedicated to enriching and nurturing the lives of children with special needs.

Angela is also an active member of the Hampton-Chippewa Chambers of Commerce, The National Association of Residential Property Managers, and the St. Louis Apartment Association.

Lisa Ryan is a member of the Community Associations Institute. This is a national organization made up of community association volunteer leaders, professional managers, community management firms, and other professionals and companies that provide products and services to home owner’s associations. Community Associations Institute has over 50 chapters nationwide to provide the latest information on community association management using continuing education, seminars, workshops, books, and newsletters.
